Youngsville Police Chief Rickey Boudreaux was injured in a motorcycle crash in Duson Sunday morning.
Duson Police and Acadian Ambulance responded to a single vehicle motorcycle crash on the I-10 westbound entrance ramp from Duson around 9 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, Duson Police confirmed that that a 2012 Harley Davidson Police Edition Motorcycle driven by Boudreaux had crashed off of the entrance ramp to the left and into a grass median.
According to police, the motorcycle flipped numerous times end over end and Boudreaux was ejected. Boudreaux sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was transported by Acadian Ambulance to a local hospital.
Boudreaux told investigators that he was on his way to assist the Church Point Police and Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office with escorting their annual Mardi Gras Parade in Church Point when the motorcycle began to slip from beneath him and the motorcycle began flipping.
Based on witness reports, Duson Police believe road conditions were the primary factor in the crash.
