A woman is being treated for life-threatening injuries after her motorcycle went off the road Monday afternoon on U.S. 15 in Louisa County, according to the Virginia State Police.
The single-vehicle crash occurred around 1:13 p.m. just south of Route 22, state police said.
The 47-year-old woman was riding a 2015 Harley-Davidson north on U.S. 15 when it ran off the road to the right, went into a ditch and struck a log. The woman was thrown from the motorcycle and back onto the roadway. The bike continued on and struck a tree.
The woman was transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center by helicopter.
State police have not released the woman’s name. The investigation is ongoing.
