Woman killed in Jefferson County motorcycle crash

OZAWKIE, Kan. (WIBW) — A motorcycle crash in Jefferson County killed one woman and injured three others Saturday afternoon.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Donald and Cindy Shalz were driving their 2015 Harley-Davidson westbound on K92, two miles east of Ozawkie.

Behind the Shalz couple, were Debra and Timmy Elling driving their 2014 Harley-Davidson.

KHP says the Elling’s motorcycle rear-ended the Shalz’s motorcycle, causing the Shalz’s to slide into the eastbound lane. The Elling’s slid into a ditch on the westbound side.

Debra Elling was killed. Her husband Timmy and the Shalz couple were treated for their injuries at Stormont Vail.

KHP says all riders involved were wearing their helmets.
