My corkscrew is a hand-me-down from my great-grandfather. After World War II, my father and his family emigrated from Slovakia to Germany to the United States. Either my father or my grandfather, I’m not sure which, brought this corkscrew as part of the family objects they could keep. A corkscrew is an awesome tool because it’s a simple machine. Mine has sentimental value.
