Vlog #86 Harley Davidson Road Glide | test ride | Myrtle beach bike week

While down in MBBW I figured I would check out the HD dealer as NC Stoney told me they were doing/giving demo rides. This is a bike I have adored for a long time. Granted I admit outside my affordability range, I have liked the front fairing design for a long time . Riding it though .. Well watch and see..

I had a Dyna superglide and traded it on a 13 roadglide. It's like having a Cadillac man. The roadglide is a lot heavier but they all weigh the same going down the road. It'll be hard to ever NOT have a bagger now.

Why the full face helmets? Are you not allowed to wear NO helmets as such!

I am too cheap for a road glide even though I think they are awesome, so I would go with the Vaquero. It would be my "Hardly Davidson"!

I test rode one and was disappointed. On some gnarly pavement, the bike bounced around and sounded like it was going to rattle apart. Over 65 mph and the wind noise drowned out the stereo and batted my head around, and the ride by wire was very jerky on and off the throttle.
I like the look and function, but at the very least, it'd need a suspension upgrade and a proper windshield. Surely Power Commander has a map to correct that throttle too. Damn thing's already too expensive to need so much fixin though.

If I were to ever go back to a bike with a fairing, I'd probably buy a Road Glide. You either like the shark nose or hate it. Good review, buddy!

Does mandatory riding in a group (for Harley-Davidson) differ from state to state or from event to event? I remember watching your Americade series and they just let you ride it on your own. Here, in California, every H-D dealership I've been to always offers a self-guided test ride to me for any of there bikes.

FYI: the lady next to you was riding the new 2016 Softail Fat Boy S.

    Thanks for the review

If the shifters are high, I didn’t find that efficient. I lowered mine and started incorporating the heel shifter. I found the shaking at idle annoying at first, now I don’t pay any attention to it.
