STEVENS POINT – Police arrested three suspects they think robbed the 13th Floor Bar in Stevens Point at gun point last week. 

According to a press release from the Stevens Point Police Department, Charles Miller, 30, of Wisconsin Rapids and Taydisa Strassburg, 25, of Stevens Point entered the bar shortly after it opened on July 14.

A celebration was held to honor Jan Baer, who retired having served 30 years on the Library Board.

RHINELANDER – Nicolet College takes pride in its welding program.

That’s why students and professors were more than happy to show it off to Governor Scott Walker Tuesday.

Walker visited the college to talk about the importance of workforce development in high-demand fields.

Welding student Warren Barkley showed Walker the ropes today on a virtual welding machine.

RHINELANDER – If you ride a snowmobile, go to parks, or simply drive in Oneida County you can likely thank one man in particular. On Tuesday, the forestry department took time to thank that man with a special dedication.

“I’m not the type that appreciates this really,” Werner Zimmer said with a laugh.

RHINELANDER – A Siberian woman faces charges for her alleged role in a Russian plot to interfere in U.S. politics.

Maria Butina attended Governor Scott Walker’s presidential campaign launch in 2015.

The U.S. justice department says Butina worked under the direction of a high-level Russian government official.
