VINELAND – A Cumberland County man died after his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer at Landis Avenue and Mill Road about 2:45 p.m. Thursday.
Stephen Miller, 53, of Millville, was flown to Cooper University Hospital in Camden where he was pronounced dead, the city’s Traffic Safety Unit reported several hours after the crash.
It appears a 2011 Freightliner was headed east on Landis Avenue when the driver, a Paterson man, began to make a left turn onto Mill Road, according to the preliminary investigation.
The truck collided with Miller, riding a 1987 Harley-Davidson, traveling west on Landis Avenue, investigators said.
Traffic was detoured while police closed the intersection for several hours.
Police are continuing to investigate and no charges have been filed.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has additional information is asked to contact police at 856-691-4111.
Officer Paul Cifuentes of the Traffic Safety Unit is the lead investigator.
