Vado man killed Wednesday in motorcycle crash

DOÑA ANA COUNTY – A 58-year-old Vado man died after crashing his motorcycle Wednesday evening, according to New Mexico State Police.  

At about 9 p.m. on July 1, State Police responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on State Road 478 around milepost 8, south of Las Cruces. According to the agency, an initial investigation indicates that a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 58-year-old Genaro Baeza, of Vado, was traveling south on State Road 478 when, for unknown reasons, the motorcycle left the roadway and crashed.

Baeza was transported by ambulance to a Texas area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Police believe alcohol to have been a factor, and Baeza was not wearing a helmet, the agency stated
