    I would rate the engine in acceleration terms, for its size its low on power, and comparing with the twin cam is like Slow & slower

    WOW way to go HD!, who could ever imagine,  4 valves per cycl. an 2 plug heads water cooled smooth running motor and larger generator better suspension. HOLY Moly 1985 technology, what in the world is going to happen next, maybe a Man on the moon, NO WAIT Indoor plumbing! You can say I am Troll, BUT I watch this to see if HD is making Better mouse trap, same crap different day, and HD has the  best technology from turning gas into NOISE since 1903!

    Good Review. I traded in a '13 Road Glide Custom this past week on a 2017 vivid black Road King. All I can say is WOW what a difference in the ride and power. A big plus are all the little stock features that have been added that in the past were mods done by owners.

    I had to agree with the seating position being a little bit of an issue. I kept the Hammock seat off the '13 I traded in and put in on the '17. That made all the difference in the world. The handle bars are the same as the bars on the Soft tail Heritage. That mod showed up as a stock replacement too the beach style bars in '14. Not probably the greatest for everyone but a huge improvement over the past. My previous Road King an '09 had 21 inch apes on it.

    When I bought the new bike the dealer threw in the 4 point quick release mounts, med sissy bar and pad, and luggage rack as part of the deal. They left the mounting to me. It took all of about 20 minutes.

    First impressions when starting the bike for the firs time was shock at the loss of all the engine noise. End of the day though the more I ride this bike the happier I become with it. Harley Davidson has finally released a bike that you can just ride and enjoy without breaking the bank trying to get it set up right. Mine will get one major mod in the near future. I will be replacing the stock exhaust with something from the aftermarket. I prefer a little less subdued sound than what comes stock. Also removing the catalytic converter will cool the bike down a little more.

    If you buy one of the new bikes get ready to grin a lot. It is a whole new experience.

    Is the quick release windshield standard on the Road King the way it is on the Indian Springfield? That would be a smart move on HD'S part if it was.
