Two people were killed in separate motorcycle crashes in the Bay Area on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The first fatal collision occurred about 3:50 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 580 near Flynn Road North in unincorporated Alameda County, said CHP Officer Marc Johnston.
The rider of a Harley-Davidson Sportster died in that crash, said Johnston, adding that the freeway was shut down for about 30 minutes to allow an air ambulance to land.
Roughly an hour later, a second motorcyclist died in a collision with a Honda Civic on the 6600 block of Pescadero Creek Road in Pescadero, said CHP Officer Art Montiel.
Additional information about both crashes was not immediately available Friday night.
