Bud’s Rockin’ Country Bar & Grill is now open on West Franklin Street. Located in the old Bud’s Harley Davidson building, it is a country-themed bar and restaurant with darts, cornhole and live entertainment. The menu includes the pub food you’d expect and also plate lunches (think fried chicken, pot roast and bacon-wrapped meatloaf), steaks and chops, catfish, beer can chicken and peanut butter and jelly wings.

Cool Cat’s Me So HangryGrill is a new food truck on the scene. The menu offers concession staples such as burgers, brats, hand-cut fries and hand-dipped corn dogs with a list of toppings including cheeses, veggies and condiments so diners may customize as they like. Coyote Restaurant in Henderson is now open in the old Tacoholics location on the riverfront. Enjoy the patio which is back just in time for spring. On the menu are your favorite Tex-Mex items and specialties such as kebabs, smoked salmon, grilled mahi mahi and mushroom dip. The menu will continue to evolve.

The Evansville Brewhouse on Haynie’s Corner will be closing for restructuring under new ownership after March 31. The soft re-opening will begin on April 18 with a grand re-opening on May 3, on Haynie’s first First Friday of the year.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers made an excellent showing in the Courier & Press’ burger tasting last year, and we’re tickled to see it is adding a West Side restaurant at the former Show-Me’s location on Pearl Drive. The building is still under construction but watch for an opening date.

Kanpai will be taking over the former Commonwealth Kitchen and Bar location in downtown Henderson April 5 and 6 during both lunch and dinner hours. The ppop-up with Jayson Munoz will feature bento boxes for lunch and new recipes for dinner including toro (big eye snapper), new sushi rolls, lobster shooters and more for dinner. Panera Bread’s new West Side location is now open for business at the former Bob Evans location on Pearl Drive. Services include a convenient drive through.

Pangea Kitchen will be hosting a croissant-style layered pastry doughnut pop-up on April 6 beginning at 8 a.m. as owner Randy Hobson and chefs finesse plans for their upcoming downtown bakery, ramen and pizza restaurant. Come early. Only 150 doughnuts will be available. During the last pop-up, the pastries sold out in under an hour.

Salsarita’s will be opening a new location at 4077 Old Indiana 261 in Newburgh in July.
Sportsman’s Grille and Billiards is serving fish tacos every day for Lent. The special will end after Easter on April 21. Customers may also now purchase a 16 oz “crowler” of Sportsman’s house-made hot wing sauce for $10.
