Trenton Soroptimists Thank Many

Trenton Soroptimists Thank Many

It was a perfect day for the ride. The Trenton Area Soroptimists would like to thank the many people, groups, and businesses who helped to make the 16th annual “Save the Girls” motorcycle ride a success. Motown Harley-Davidson allowed the 118 motorcycles to begin and end their ride at their dealership. The staff helped immensely with set up and provided entertainment with the band Wisteria. Everyone enjoyed a Chicken Shack meal after the ride.

The event concluded with several types of raffles: spin the prize wheel, 50/50, a four-piece patio furniture set raffle donated by Linda Crisi, and a silent auction of several specialty items donated by local businesses and generous individuals like Jeff Thomas Photography, Iron Bandogs of Ohio, and Tessa Smith. Many donated gift cards: Applebee’s, Bar None Steak & Fish, AT & T, Bruegger’s Bagels, E.G. Nick’s, Gus’s Carry Out, HUSH, Impulse Boutique, Ironwood, O’Callaghan’s, Penn Grill, Pie Sci, The Post, Rosenau Powersports, Smoke Street BBQ, Starbuck’s, Walmart/Sam’s, Subway, McDonald’s, Sweet Sensations, Livingston Leather Shop, and Buffalo Wild Wings. We especially thank our many sponsors: Accumed Billing Inc.; Arlene and Traci Turner; Catherine Teifer; Chris Speedie; Jackson, Snider, & Parker, DDS; Hilliard Lyons, Iron Bandogs Central MC/LE; Nancy and John Colina; Marty Evans; Mercure Insurance Agency Inc; Sibley Gardens; Snelling Staffing Services; Splasher’s Carwash; and Sportsman’s Pizzeria.

The Trenton Soroptimists wish to extend gratitude to the three Wayne County sheriffs, the Huron and Sumpter police departments, and the Motown H.O.G. Chapter who acted as escorts to keep the 214 riders safe. Our sincere appreciation goes to all the bikers and riders who supported this great fundraiser. All proceeds of the ride will benefit the worthy cause of raising awareness of women’s health issues, domestic violence, and human trafficking.

The Trenton Soroptimist organization meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at the Brownstown Community Center, 21311 Telegraph Road. All women are welcome to attend.
