Southeast Community Celebration Jazz Concert

The Jae Sinnett Zero to 60 Quartet with guest vocalist Lori Williams and Karla Crump will perform during a free jazz concert 5-8 p.m. Saturday. The event will commemorate Ella Fitzgerald’s centennial – the former “Lady of Song” would have been 100 in April. ‘Guns of August’ War Gaming Convention

The “Guns of August” War Gaming Convention is a tabletop war gaming convention held by the Old Dominion Military Society and the Virginia War Museum. The convention features board games, themed games, vendors, raffles and miniatures at the Virginia War Museum (9285 Warwick blvd., Newport News) from noon to 10 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Single day admission is $ 8 for adults, $ 6 for children and $ 7 for seniors and active duty military. Multiple day passes are $ 16 for adults, $ 12 for children and $ 14 for seniors and active duty military. Single passes for Game Master Running Game One Day are $ 6 and multiple day passes are $ 12.
