SHAWANGUNK, N.Y. >> A woman was killed and two people were injured in a crash involving two motorcycles, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Clorisa Hopkins, 39, of Woodbourne, Sullivan County, was declared dead at the scene after the 2017 Harley Davidson on which she was a passenger went off Burlingham Road, near Twin Oaks Lane, in the southern Ulster County town of Shawangunk and struck a ditch about 12:25 p.m. Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The driver of the southbound motorcycle, Kenneth Hopkins, 38, of Woodbourne, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, deputies said. They did not specify the nature of his injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office said a 2007 Harley Davidson traveling south on Burlingham Road also was involved in the collision and that its driver, Ben Hopkins, 56, of Woodbourne, suffered facial injuries and was treated at the scene.
Authorities did not say how the three Hopkinses were related. They also did not say how the second motorcycle was involved.
The Sheriff’s Office said it continues to investigate the accident.
