A woman riding on the back of a motorcycle was killed when the vehicle crashed in southwestern Minnesota on Saturday afternoon, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Linda Joyce Brandstrom, 72, of Madison, Minn., was killed in the 4:43 p.m. accident at Highway 119 and 340th Street in nearby Hantho Township, Lac Qui Parle County.

The State Patrol said the driver of the 2005 Harley Davidson cycle, Steven Harvey Dunkley, 66, also of Madison, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Neither motorcycle occupant had been wearing a helmet.

It is believed that Dunkley had been drinking, and that the road was wet at the time of the crash, which remained under investigation on Sunday afternoon.
