A 23-year-old Seminole man was seriously injured after he was thrown from his motorcycle during a crash in Indian Rocks Beach early Saturday.

Just before 4 a.m., Logan Collins was heading east on Fifth Avenue North onto the Indian Rocks Causeway Bridge, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office news release. Collins hit a guardrail and flew off his 2017 Harley Davidson.

No other vehicles were involved.

Collins called 911 and was taken by ambulance to a hospital, the sheriff’s office said. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Deputies on the agency’s Major Accident Investigation Team suspect speed and impairment contributed to the incident, the sheriff’s office said. Authorities are continuing to investigate.
