Port St. Lucie police investigate fatal motorcycle crash

PORT ST. LUCIE — A 22-year old Fort Pierce man is being charged with homicide and other drug-related charges after police say he collided head-on into a motorcycle Sunday morning, according to a news release from Port St. Lucie Police Department.

Port St. Lucie Police on Sunday charged Christian Zachery White, of the 2000 block of N. Old Dixie Highway, with vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter, and possession of MDMA, after he crashed his Honda Civic into a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, killing the motorcyclist.

A preliminary police investigation states, shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday, White was traveling southbound on N.W. Selvitz Drive in a Honda Civic when he attempted to pass a minivan in a no-passing zone, the news release states.

White collided with the driver of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which was traveling northbound on N.W. Selvitz Drive, the release states.

The motorcyclist, Isabel Borges, 58, of Port St. Lucie, died on the scene from injuries received from the crash, the release states.

An unidentified passenger in White’s car who was unconscious and unresponsive after the crash was taken toa  local hospital by St. Lucie Fire Rescue.
