Port St. Lucie man dies after motorcycle crash on US 1

Here are tips on what to do if you are involved in a traffic crash, according to Master Sgt. Frank Sabol, Port St. Lucie police spokesman.

A 77-year-old Port St. Lucie man died after his motorcycle crashed into another vehicle on U.S. 1 in Port St. Lucie, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Edmond Sandora was exiting the Prima Vista Crossing plaza north of Prima Vista Boulevard about 2 p.m. Saturday, according to an FHP news release.

Sandora was turning his 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle right onto northbound U.S. 1 and failed to notice a 2001 Lexus driven by Matt Dandrea, 43, of Palm City, coming from the south into the plaza. The motorcycle’s left side struck the right side of the Lexus, FHP said.

Sandora was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, where he was pronounced dead. Sandora was not wearing a helmet.

Dandrea was not injured, FHP said.

The crash remains under investigation.
