Auto show May 11-14
The second edition of the Bacolod Auto Show will be held at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City May 11 to 14.
Jun Alano of Tinkerbelle Events and Production said the Bacolod Auto Show 2017 will open at 2 p.m. on May 11 after a motorcade in the city at 9 a.m., ribbon-cutting and tour of the exhibit.
He said they expect representatives from the local government of Bacolod and Land Transportation Office at the opening since the LTO will hold a seminar during the event.
Alano said the show is about everything related to cars and will showcase classic and vintage cars, including modified ones. The car competition is the exciting part of the auto show and the judging of the competition will be on May 12.
He said they have more participants in this year’s auto show and have been encouraged to hold the their second show and duplicate the success of the first one in Bacolod last year.
There is really a big demand for cars in Bacolod City, which is a reflection of the economy of the city, Alano said.
People buy cars because it is needed for mobility. Mobility is a very important factor especially in an expanding economy, he said, adding that it reflects how dynamic the city is.
Alano said Dennis Piccio, manager of Ford Philippines, pointed out that Bacolod City is one of their biggest growth markets.
Piccio said their thrust in Bacolod is really high so the owners is putting up businesses here to provide jobs to the people of the city.
Included in the tour of exhibit are Total (Phils.) Corporation, Harley Davidson of Cebu, Ironman 4×4 Philippines, Ford Negros, and Mazda vehicle launch.
Other events include the summer Tamiya mini race to be held at the lobby of SMX from May 12 to 14 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., ChaermonBasa flare tending exhibition, Autoshow Babes, Dance Pull Hiphop, Total (Phil.) Corp. product presentation, as well as sound-off exhibition at the SMX parking.*CGS
