For the first time, Parkway Bank Park in Rosemont is hosting a toy donation drive, Jolly in July, as area restaurants are accepting toy donations through the end of July — ending with a series of events for the community to take part in.
Parkway Bank Park is working with Fashion Outlets of Chicago and is partnering with charity Toys for Tots. They are looking for unused, unwrapped new toys for donation which can be dropped off at locations through the end of the month.
Drop-off locations include: Adobe Gilas, Bub City, Crust, Fashion Outlets of Chicago, Five Roses, Fogo De Chao, Harley Davidson, Kings, Park Tavern, Pete’s Piano Bar, Pete’s TikiTiki, Sugar Factory, Verilife and Zanies.
“This is our first year, so we are hoping for a great outcome,” Rosemont Event Coordinator Michelle McDonald said. “Our goal is to raise as many toys as we can throughout the park.”
Toys for Tots will not accept realistic looking weapons and gifts with food. The toys can be $5 or more of value.
Starting Sunday, July 24, Parkway Bank Park will start its series of events, encouraging those who come to wear holiday-like apparel. Toy donations are accepted at the following upcoming events:
Monday, July 25 at 6 p.m.–Zumba in the Park; Wednesday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m.–PowHerhouse in the Park; Thursday, July 28 at 7 p.m.–Echoes of Pompeii concert; and Friday, July 29 at 7 p.m.–Bruce in the USA and Deadfest concert. To conclude the festivities on Sunday, July 31 is a Harley Motorcycle Ride at 10:30 a.m.
