One injured in Bettendorf motorcycle accident

A late night collision at the 400 block of River Drive in Bettendorf has left one motorcyclist injured.

Yesterday, June 9th, at approximately 10:23, a 40 year old Davenport resident driving a 2016 Harley Davidson FLHX "Street Glide" struck the left rear bumper of a 2008 Chevy Cobalt driven by a 24 year old Davenport resident.

The motorcyclist lost control, causing the motorcycle to slide on its left side.

The rider was separated from the vehicle during the crash, and both came to a final rest in the eastbound lanes of River Drive.

The operator of the Harley Davidson was transported to Genesis East Hospital by Medic Ambulance and was eventually transported to the University of Iowa Hospital.

The extent of his injuries are unknown, but he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Chevy Cobalt did not sustain injuries during the crash.
