Fatal motorcycle accident in Sumter County.

One person is dead after a motorcycle and car collided at the intersection of Pinewood Road and Canes Mill Road. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened just after 3:00 pm Saturday.

The 2000 Harley Davidson was traveling south on Pinewood Rd as a 2010 Hyundai was at a stop sign at the intersection of Pinewood Rd and Canes Mill Rd.

The Hyundai pulled from the stop sign in front of the motorcycle and then collided with the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was killed at the scene. They were not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Hyundai was not injured nor transported to the hospital. Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident. The Sumter County Coroner’s office will release the identity of the person killed at a later time.
