NW Florida motorcyclist killed in crash

Man attempted to avoid vehicle making lane change into path of Harley and crashed into rear of stationary vehicle in turn lane.

A Northwest Florida man attempting to avoid an accident was killed when his motorcycle crashed into the rear of a vehicle stopped in a turn lane.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, Tony Isaac, 57, of Pensacola, was traveling east on State Road 291 near Smith’s Fish Camp Road in Escambia County at the time of the 6:41 p.m. fatal crash Saturday.

FHP reported that Isaac swerved on his 2014 Harley-Davidson FLHXI to avoid a vehicle that made a lane change directly into the path of the motorcycle.

The move by the vehicle forced Isaac to redirect into the left turn lane for Smith’s Fish Camp Road at which point he crashed into the rear of a stationary vehicle waiting to turn.

Isaac was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola where he died from his injuries.

Alcohol was not related to the crash and FHP noted charges are pending an investigation.
