Number of Harley-Davidson employees skyrocket in preparation for the Rally

The Black Hills Harley-Davidson store in Rapid City is revving up and getting ready for the 77th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

The store set up a huge tent in its parking lot that’s currently housing hundreds of new and pre-owned Harley Davidsons.

One employee says around the time of the Rally, they go from 70 full-time employees to an additional 400 part-time employees for all of their locations throughout the Black Hills.

Black Hills Harley-Davidson General Manager and Co-Owner Terry Rymer says, “We’re excited. We really are. When this starts to happen and the metamorphosis begins – moving the showroom around, moving tents in and then setting up all the motorcycles underneath them – it just creates a lot of buzz, a lot of excitement. Our staff gets excited. We see a lot of old friends. We’ve got one vendor setting up today already and so it’s really a lot of fun. We enjoy it.”

Other vendors will arrive at the store’s location for the pre-rally on July 29th and July 30th.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally brings in hundreds of thousands and people from around the world.
