SOUTHARD, Okla. — A North Dakota man was killed Wednesday in a three-vehicle accident on Oklahoma 51A in Blaine County.

Bert John Hilber, 75, of Jamestown, N.D., died at the scene of the accident, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

The accident happened at 9:38 a.m. about 5 miles south of Southard.

According to the report, Hibler was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson trike and stopped behind a 2013 Kenworth driven by Troy Dale Musil, 58, of Crescent. Musil was stopped and attempting to turn left onto a county road, according to the report, and Hibler stopped behind him. Daniel Mark Roberts, 30, of Newcastle, driving a 2011 Chevrolet pickup, failed to stop and hit Hibler’s Harley, pushing it into the back of Musil’s vehicle, according to the report.

Roberts’ condition was listed on the report as “apparently normal.” The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The highway was closed for more than 7 hours as OHP investigated.

Hibler’s body was taken to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Edmond.
