DENMARK, N.Y. — A Jefferson County man was killed this weekend after he crashed a Harley-Davidson in Lewis County, state police said.
Harold R. Rogers, 63, of Watertown, was traveling west on Number Three Road in the town of Denmark just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday when the motorcycle veered off the right shoulder of the road, troopers said in a news release.
The motorcycle continued through a grassy embankment for about 200 feet before coming to rest on its right side, the release said.
Rogers was thrown from the motorcycle, state police said.
Lewis County Search and Rescue ambulance took Rogers to Lewis County General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Rogers was “a jack-of-all trades and, if he couldn’t fix it, no one could!,” according to his obituary. “He was a man who never sat still, and would frequently say ‘I’ve got stuff to do!'”
State police said they are continuing to investigate the crash.
