An Oakland County man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Brighton Township.
The 29-year-old Highland Township resident was driving south on Old US-23 shortly after 7 a.m. on a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he struck the rear-end of a Chevrolet van turning left into a private driveway, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Tuesday.
The motorcyclist was transported to the University of Michigan Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the van, 48, from Livonia, was not injured. Police said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
The crash occurred just north of Spencer Road.
The Brighton Area Fire Department, Livingston County Ambulance and Michigan State Police assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Livingston County Major Crash Team.
