Motorcycle passenger killed in Wednesday wreck in Burleigh County


BISMARCK — A motorcycle passenger was killed in a one-vehicle crash Wednesday night, June 9, in Burleigh County.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that a 2006 Harley-Davidson was traveling southbound on 158th Street Southeast at Highway 1804, about 9 miles south of Menoken, N.D.

The driver, a 49-year-old man from Bismarck, braked and lost control, according to the report. The motorcycle overturned, crossed Highway 1804 and entered the highway’s south ditch near mile marker 61.

The passenger, a 69-year-old woman from Bismarck, was taken to CHI-St. Alexius Hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to the report. She was wearing a helmet.

The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report. He was not wearing a helmet.

Names are being withheld pending notification. This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
