Motorcycle hits Deer, Different Motorcycle hits Ejected Passenger

A 42-year-old Mandan man and a 40-year-old Mandan woman were traveling eastbound on Highway 200 on a 2001 Harley Davidson. The man was driving, the female was a passenger.

A deer struck the 2001 Harley Davidson causing the driver to lose control. The driver was thrown into the ditch and the passenger onto the roadway.

A 43-year-old Washburn woman was driving a 2012 Harley Davidson. She struck the passenger that was thrown onto the roadway.

The driver and passenger of the 2001 Harley-Davidson were transported to CHI-St Alexius in Turtle Lake where the passenger was pronounced deceased. The driver of the 2001 Harley-Davidson was airlifted to CHI-St Alexius in Bismarck where he was treated for serious injuries.

The driver of the 2012 Harley Davidson was not injured. This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred about 1 mile east of Mercer on Saturday at about 1 p.m.
