Today, kayakers and canoers will be competing for the 26th annual Race the Red.

There are three different races for 1.5, 3.5, and 6 miles. All of them begin at the south boat ramp at Dike East. Entry fee is $15, and the event gets underway starting at 6:30 this evening. A barbecue food truck will be on hand for refreshments, and in addition to awards for the fastest racers, there will also be a prize for the best decorated boat.
