Meigs County deputies looking for second suspect in theft at Fox's Pizza Den

RUTLAND, Ohio (WTAP) – The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office has arrested one person and is looking for a second person facing charges in a restaurant break-in last week.

Meigs County Sheriff Keith Wood says the break-in and robbery happened between the night of Wednesday, May 23rd and the morning of Thursday, May 24th at Fox’s Pizza Den in Rutland, Ohio.

Surveillance video at the scene showed a man entering the store wearing black boots, blue jeans, a Harley Davidson hooded sweatshirt, gloves, and a bandana partially covering his face.

The man was seen on video stealing money from the cash register and other areas inside the business.

The video led deputies to develop two persons of interest in the case: Harley E. McDonald, 36, of Rutland, Ohio, and Angel N Welsh, 29, of Rutland, Ohio, who was a recently-fired employee of the Fox’s Pizza store that had been broken into.

On Friday, May 25th, 2018 deputies along with Task Force Agents, and the Meigs County Common Pleas Court Probation Department, tried to find the two persons of interest at the home of John Partlow on Shepard Road in Rutland.

When the officers arrived at the home, they saw Welsh and McDonald on the property and told them to stay where they were.

Welsh obeyed the officers and stayed at the home, but McDonald ran away through the woods and officers were not able to capture him.

Agents arrested Welsh and found a vehicle on the property containing narcotics, an undisclosed amount of cash and coins still rolled in coin rollers, and the gloves worn by McDonald during the break-in.

Deputies spoke with the home owner, John Partlow, who gave deputies permission to search his residence, and turned over a Harley Davidson hooded sweat shirt that deputies discovered was worn by McDonald in the surveillance video during the break-in at Fox’s Pizza.

Welsh was arrested and charged with Complicity to Breaking and Entering and Complicity to Theft, in connection with the crimes at Fox’s Pizza.

Deputies are trying to find Harley E. McDonald, 36 of Rutland, who faces felony charges of Breaking and Entering and Theft.
