Madison, Minn., woman, 72, killed in motorcycle crash

APPLETON, Minn. — One person was killed and another injured in a motorcycle crash Saturday, Aug. 10, south of Appleton in Lac qui Parle County in west-central Minnesota.

The accident happened around 4:43 p.m. on state Highway 119 and 340th Street.

Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash and alcohol may have been a factor.

According to State Patrol, Linda Joyce Brandstrom, 72, of Madison, was killed in the crash.

She was a passenger on a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Steven Harvey Dunkley, 66, of Madison.

Dunkley was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

Dunkley and Brandstrom were not wearing helmets and the report indicates alcohol was detected in Dunkley.
