MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — The Racine-area House of Harley-Davidson is closing, and merging operations with its Milwaukee-area flagship store, company officials said.
On Friday, the House of Harley-Davidson dealership in Mount Pleasant announced they are closing the local dealership, and merging operations with the Layton Ave. location. The move is effective Sept. 14, 2019. Services once performed at the 1155 Oakes Road location in Mount Pleasant will now take place at the House of Harley-Davidson’s flagship location at 6221 W. Layton Avenue in Milwaukee.
“We thank all our customers who have patronized the Racine store in the past and want them to know they will continue to receive the highest quality customer service during this transition without interruption, just a few miles down the road,” Jeff Binkert, president of House of Harley-Davidson, said in a statement. “We will combine our service areas, staff and resources to provide the best possible customer experience.”
Company officials said that the House of Harley-Davidson will continue servicing the police fleets from the City of Racine and Mount Pleasant, in addition to the police fleets from the Milwaukee Police Department, Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Wauwatosa Police, Franklin Police, Greendale Police, Walworth County Sheriffs, Wisconsin State Patrol, New Berlin Police, Jefferson County Sheriffs, Waukesha County Sheriffs, South Milwaukee Police and Brown Deer Police.
Gift cards, prepaid maintenance, extended service plans and any other company-issued customer credit will be honored at the House of Harley-Davidson flagship location moving forward, company officials said. Work on any motorcycles currently being serviced at the Racine location will be completed, and customers will be contacted to schedule pickup or delivery. Moving forward, all service work will be conducted at the Greenfield location.
