A 25-year-old Las Vegas man died at UMC early Friday after a crash with two vehicles west of the Strip.

Jared Nelson’s official cause and manner of death are pending with the Clark County coroner.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nelson was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson Sportster southbound on Dean Martin Drive. Witnesses say he failed to stop for a red light at Jerry Lewis Way and struck a 2013 Nissan Sentra that was turning left on a green light.

Also involved in the collision was a 2016 BMW 4 Series that was struck by the Sentra when the force of the impact with the Harley Davidson forced it to spin into the BMW.

Nelson was transported to UMC Trauma with life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased a short time later.

His death was the 82nd traffic-related fatality for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department this year.
