Kolkata Police add five Harley Davidson Street 750 to its fleet

The Kolkata Police has recently inducted brand new Harley-Davidson Street 750s into their fleet. The bikes bought for Rs 5.5 lakh each will be used only for special ocassions.

The patrol Street 750s get hard panniers, rear antenna, special police livery and a pillion seat cowl. The bikes also come with twin sirens and loudspeakers mounted on the crash guard.

The bikes did no undergo any alterations in the mechanical department. The Street 750 churn out 47 bhp from its liquid-cooled, 749cc v-twin engine which makes 59 Nm of maximum torque at 3,750 rpm. A six-speed transmission directs torque to the rear wheel via a belt drive. The bike has discs on both ends, with standard ABS.

The bikes will primarily be used for ceremonial purposes and they were first showcased on the streets for the first time on the 15th of August which marked our Independence Day celebrations, V. Solomon Nesakumar, DCP of Traffic Department told media.
