A married couple from Kingman died after their motorcycle collided with a pick-up truck in Seligman Thursday afternoon, May 3. Neither was wearing a helmet.
Deputies with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) were dispatched to the scene on Route 66 at Fort Rock Road just before 3 p.m. The vehicles involved were a white 1991 Dodge Dakota pick-up and a maroon 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle, according to a news release.
Preliminary reports indicated the driver of the truck, 77-year-old Francis Rowbottom of Seligman, was heading west and turned left in front of the motorcycle, driven by 62-year-old Edward Albaugh. Edward’s wife, 55-year-old Katheryn Albaugh, was his passenger. The Albaugh’s were eastbound on Route 66.
Edward was pronounced dead at the scene, the news release states. Katheryn was airlifted to Flagstaff Medical Center and succumbed to her injuries. Rowbottom was also transported to Flagstaff Medical Center by ground ambulance for apparent non-life threatening injuries.
The collision remains under investigation and includes pending blood test results from Rowbottom.
