Jamestown man killed in multiple-vehicle crash in Oklahoma

Bert John Hilber, 75, was stopped on his Harley-Davidson on Oklahoma Highway 51-A at an intersection with Blaine County Road E710 at 9:38 a.m. about 5 miles south of Southard, Okla., according to a report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Public Affairs Division.

The patrol said a 2013 Kenworth semitractor-trailer driven by Troy Musil, 58, Crescent, Okla., was stopped at the same intersection in front of Hilber. The patrol said Musil was preparing to turn left when Daniel Roberts, 30, Newcastle, Okla, who was driving a 2011 Chevrolet pickup, did not stop and struck Hilber’s Harley-Davidson from behind, pushing his trike into the back end of the Kenworth.

Hilber was pronounced dead at the scene. The patrol said Hilber’s body was transported to the medical examiner’s office in Enid, Okla.

Roberts was taken by private vehicle to McBride Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was treated for injuries and released. Musil was not injured in the crash.
