Joplin – Organizers say the real winners of a soup competition are our nation’s veterans.
The soup competition, held at Hideout Harley-Davidson in Joplin Saturday, featured five soups for tasters to try. For a $ 5 donation, each taster could eat as much of each soup as the liked, and then vote for their favorite. The money raised from the competition and a desert auction will be donated to the Joplin VFW. Organizers say this is there way of giving back to those who have given to our nation.
“Veterans are very, very important to us. Obviously, they’re the reason we are free, they’re the reason we can ride our motorcycles, and get in the wind as they say, because the veterans have done what it takes to make it where we are free,” says Hideout Harley-Davidson General Sales Manager Dale Wano.
The first, second and third place winners of the competition each received a gift card to Hideout Harley-Davidson.
