Harley-Davidson to turn 8 Dyna motorbikes into new Softail bikes

Betting big on cruisers, the luxury motorcycle brand Harley-Davidson has announced its decision to turn eight of its bestselling Dyna motorbikes into new Softail bikes.

The decision aims to attracting new riders and retain existing riders riding Harley-Davidson bikes longer.

The Dyna line of bikes that will be turned into the Softail family in 2018 include Fat Boy, Heritage Classic, Low Rider, Fat Bob, Street Bob, Softail Slim, Deluxe and Breakout.

The new line of bikes will feature a new chassis that will be stronger, stiffer as well as lighter than the existing models, along with enhanced, better-performing suspension. The new bikes will weigh up to 35 pounds less than existing units.

The new bikes will get new fuel tanks and bigger engines. All of them will come equipped with either the Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-twin or the larger Milwaukee-Eight 114.

Pricing for the new Softail models will range from $ 14,999 for the basic Street Bob or Low Rider to $ 20,299 for the Fat Boy or Heritage Classic.
