Both motorcycles are based on their respective standard variants, the Forty-Eight and Street Glide. The Forty-Eight Special gets three unique paint schemes, an ape-handlebar, a redesigned seat and exhaust tips. The Street Glide Special is a touring bagger which sports the trademark batwing fairing with full-LED lighting at the front and rear. It is offered in five paint options. The Street Glide Special gets blacked-out components like the front forks, drivetrain, and handlebar to complete its custom motorcycle look. While the standard Forty-Eight already sports a lot of black finished parts, the Forty-Eight additionally gets black engine head covers.
In terms of engine specs, the Forty-Eight Special sports the same 1202cc, V-twin motor as the standard version that produces 96Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. However, the Street Glide Special is powered by a slightly bigger 1868cc motor as compared to its previous counterpart. This engine puts out 163Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a six-speed transmission.
As per our sources, pricing for the Street Glide Special starts at Rs 30.53 lakhs. On the other hand, the Forty-Eight Special is likely to be priced at a premium of Rs 1.5-2 lakhs over the standard variant which retails at Rs 11.06 lakhs.
