Harley Davidson rider killed in lane-changing collision on I-15

A Temecula man was killed on Interstate 15 north of Escondido Saturday morning when his motorcycle was clipped by another vehicle changing lanes, the California Highway Patrol said.

The 50-year-old rider was going southbound on the freeway near the Lilac Road bridge about 5:45 a.m. when the driver of a Toyota Camry crossed into his lane, said CHP Officer Jim Bettencourt. The car’s rear collided with the Harley Davidson, ejecting the rider onto the shoulder.

The driver of the car stopped and assisted. The rider, whose name was not released, died at the scene.
