If you are not a Harley rider, or one of a greater number of Harley owners with their bikes in a garage, you may not get it. Why do you think we chose Harley-Davidson bikes in the first place? After all, they’re slower and less reliable than the Japanese bikes.
A lot of us bought them because they were American made, and we were patriotic. Now I am embarrassed to own one after reading about Harley’s response to President Donald Trump’s attempt to return vitality to American manufacturing.
I will look elsewhere, probably an American-made Indian motorcycle, for my next bike. Harley-Davidson should have just raised their European prices and created a higher-image product in Europe, as premium European cars have done here.
