The world’s luxury and best design company Harley-Davidson is expected to introduce its first electric motorcycle Harley-Davidson LiveWire in India on August 27. In addition, Harley-Davidson will introduce the second motorcycle in India on the same day. In January this year alone, the American motorcycle manufacturer revealed the US price of LiveWire and is now ready to enter the Indian market. The new electric superbike is expected to be launched in India by the end of 2019 or early 2020. Not only that, but the Harley-Davidson LiveWire company’s Indian website is also listed.
The company has used a cast aluminum frame in LiveWire to keep a lightweight of the motorcycle and the Showa Big-Piston Forks at the front and the Showa Monoshock at the rear will be fully adjustable. For connectivity, the bike will display a 4.3-inch TFT touchscreen infotainment that is tilt-adjustable. LiveWire will also provide Bluetooth connectivity to the smartphone and a wireless headset to allow riders to listen to music, lift calls and listen to navigation instructions.
For your information, the bike will be powered by a safety cornering ABS, traction control, cornering tractor control, front-wheel lift mitigation and drag torque slip control system. Apart from the Rider Assist System, LiveWire will get 5 riding mots which will include Road, Rain, Range and Sport. The proto-production model of Harley-Davidson LiveWire was introduced during the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show. The new LiveWire will come with a new electric powertrain called The H-D Revelation and features a permanent magnet electric motor that will run on 15.5 Kwh battery. The motor will generate 104.6bhp and 116Nm of torque. Harley’s electric bike takes 3.5 seconds to catch a speed of 0 to 100kmph. On a single charge, the bike can range up to 235 km. The LiveWire motorcycle is powered by a 12-volt lithium-ion accessory battery.
