Halifax Harley-Davidson dealership sold

Privateers Harley-Davidson in Halifax and Mile 1 Harley-Davidson of Mount Pearl, N.L. have been sold to The Hickman Automotive Group, a family-owned business with 11 automobile dealerships across Newfoundland and Labrador.

Gord Jones and Gerry Keeping, co-owners of Mile 1 Harley-Davidson and Privateers Harley-Davidson, made the announcement in a news release Tuesday, although The Hickman Automotive Group had assumed ownership on Monday.

“After significant thought and discussions with our families, Gerry and I decided the time was right to transition our business,” Jones stated in the release.

“We wanted to be sure that we found the right owners for our employees and the many customers who have been loyal to our dealerships.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
