A fundraiser to benefit the family of a City of Milwaukee worker killed on the job by a hit-and-run driver will be held Saturday afternoon at The Bubbler, 3158 South Howell Avenue in Bay View.
The event from noon until 6 p.m. is free, and all proceeds from beverage sales, tips and raffle items will go to the family of Bryan Rodriguez.
Raffle items include drills, saws, power tools, Harley-Davidson shirts and a 100 years of Harley-Davidson book.
A silent auction will also be held for a football signed by Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer Willie Davis, with proceeds from the auction going to the family of Rodriguez as well.
Rodriguez, a 54-year-old leader of a Department of Public Works street repair crew, was fatally injured Feb. 8 when he was struck while filling potholes in the 1800 block of North 17th Street.
A 31-year-old Milwaukee man is in custody and facing charges in Rodriguez’s death.
