A Fort Wayne man died after a semi tractor-trailer turned in front of his motorcycle and the two collided in Butler, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.
Michael Hall, 45, died after he was ejected from his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which caught fire, at around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release.
The semi was traveling northbound in the 4400 block of County Road 59 when the Paulding, Ohio, driver started to make a left hand turn westward into a factory driveway. The driver said he did not believe the motorcycle, which was heading south on County Road 59, was that close and believed he had time to turn, according to the news release.
Hall was flown by Samaritan helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, where he was later pronounced dead.
The crash is still under investigation.
