The Ohio State Highway Patrol said an Elyria motorcyclist is dead after a crash in Sandusky on Saturday.
Investigators said the accident happened on Cleveland Road just east of Remington Avenue in Sandusky around 8:32 p.m. on Saturday.
Lieutenant Brett Gockstetter said in a press release a 2011 Ford Escape was heading eastbound on Cleveland Road.
Gockstetter said the driver came to a complete stop in the roadway due to traffic stopping in from of him.
OSHP said a 2005 Harley Davidson was heading eastbound on Cleveland Road behind the Ford driver.
Investigators said the motorcyclist did not maintain a cleared distance and hit the Ford.
The motorcyclist and his passenger were ejected from the motorcycle, according to investigators.
The man and woman who were ejected from the Harley Davidson were transported to the Firelands Hospital.
OSHP said Carl Webb was pronounced dead from the injures of the crash at the hospital.
Investigators said the motorcyclist and the passenger were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The incident is still under investigation.
