CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- (CLARKSVILLENOW) Appleton Harley Davidson and Old Glory Distilling Co. joined the Force Behind the Forces by partnering with the USO Fort Campbell for the 17th Annual Eagle Toy Ride on Veterans Day.
Drivers and riders formed up on 135 motorcycles to ride together for nearly 10 miles through Clarksville from Old Glory Distilling Co. to Appleton Harley Davidson. Participants donated $ 25 or a new, unwrapped toy before or after the ride, all of which will support the USO Fort Campbell’s annual Holiday Extravaganza event.
“We’re so thankful to Appleton for the opportunity to be their partner for this year’s Eagle Toy Ride,” said Kari Moore, Center Director for USO Fort Campbell/Nashville. “This generous donation is a greatly welcomed contribution to our growing Holiday Extravaganza event for families at Fort Campbell.”
During the extravaganza, military families are gifted with toys, books, games and food. This year, the event is being extended into a week of celebration, scheduled for December 8-15. The 184 toys collected from the ride will specifically support the USO Holiday Great Gift Giveaway portion of the extravaganza.
Hosting the ride to support military families is a natural fit for Tia Suiter, a third generation Appleton owner along with husband, Danny.
“I come from a long history of Veterans and I’m honored to continue hosting this great event,” she said. “Most of our Harley family members are Veterans and events like the annual Eagle Toy Ride are a great way for us to continue supporting our community’s Veterans and their families.”
