Duncraig: WA Police charge alleged reckless Harley Davidson rider

POLICE have charged a 56-year-old Sorrento man who allegedly tried to evade them but got stuck in sand while riding a Harley Davidson on Sunday.

The rider allegedly sped away when patrol officers attempted to stop the motorcycle on Marmion Avenue in Duncraig about 7.30pm.

A police spokeswoman said he was accused of recklessly riding through Marmion and Carine.

“As the bike turned onto Reid Highway in Carine, it mounted a kerb and became stuck in soft sand,” she said.

“This caused the rider to fall from the motorcycle, enabling police to apprehend him.”

Police charged him with multiple driving offences including aggravated reckless driving, driving without a licence and failing to stop.

He was also charged with breaching bail and exceeding a zero blood alcohol content.
