Driver charged in Roseville crash that injured biker

A woman accused of driving drunk has been charged in a collision this week that left a motorcyclist seriously injured, Roseville police said.

An investigation found that Monique Johnson was turning left into incoming traffic on Groesbeck near Hayes about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when her 2015 Chrysler struck a Harley-Davidson heading north, city officials said in a statement.

The 32-year-old motorcycle driver was transported to a local hospital. He was listed in serious condition, according to the release.

Johnson, who did not report being injured in the crash, was arrested at the scene and held at the Roseville Police Department.

The 42-year-old Fraser resident was arraigned Thursday in 39th District Court on one count each of:

• Operating while intoxicated causing serious injury, a five-year felony 

• Operating while intoxicated third offense, a one-to-five year felony

• Operating while license suspended, revoked, denied, causing serious injury, a five-year felony

• Operating while license suspended, revoked, denied, a 93-day misdemeanor

Judge Joseph Boedeker set bond at $15,000. Johnson’s next court date is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. Oct. 16.
